about joan

Last month, we visited Joan Larin at her new home in upstate New York, where she recently moved due to changes in her health and mobility. In 1992, Joan Larin became Jazz at Lincoln Center’s first subscriber. For over two decades, Joan was a regular in our audience coming to several shows each week. She savored the music, befriended the musicians who played it, and enriched the organization with her enthusiasm and dedication.

On our recent visit, we shared personal tributes from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and introduced Joan to our live free webcasts so she can continue to experience the music she loves from wherever she is. Joan has a special place in our hearts and she’ll always have a seat in our house!
