Adonis Rose & The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra With René Marie And John Boutté

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room
 December 13 & 14, 7:00 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.

New York, NY (October 24, 2019) – For two nights, on December 13 & 14, at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the Grammy Award–winning Adonis Rose & the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra will bring its unique blend of sonic power, stylistic versatility, and New Orleans emphasis on groove to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room stage. The Appel Room in Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, is located on Broadway at 60th Street in New York City.

To perform its unusually expansive repertoire of originals, jazz staples, New Orleans classics, and pop, rock, R&B, and soul hits, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra will be joined by New Orleans native John Boutté and Grammy Award–nominated vocalist René Marie, a modern icon well-loved by Jazz at Lincoln Center audiences.

Under new leadership from artistic director and drummer Adonis Rose, the band is showcasing more of its range than ever before. The NOJO is a band for all types of listeners and an especially great entry-point for new fans of jazz. The band is equally fun when it gets down to basics with classic New Orleans tunes, and its genre-crossing surprises just further prove that New Orleans’ unique musical energy can reinvigorate all types of American music. NOJO offers a fresh take on what it means to be a jazz big band, and it exemplifies the mantra that “all jazz is modern.”

Free pre-concert discussion about the music and artists at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
