Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Family Concert: Who Is Chick Corea? Features Host Sean Jones And Rising Stars Sean Mason, Micah Thomas, And Tyler Henderson

New York, NY (August 12, 2019) - Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Jazz For Young People concerts are some of the most engaging and fun afternoon concerts in the city, designed to entertain and inspire family audiences. In the first family concert of the season, Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates the life and music of pianist, composer and living legend Chick Corea in Family Concert: Who is Chick Corea? in Rose Theater on Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Grammy Award-Winner Cécile Mclorin Salvant’s The Ogresse: A Genre-Defying Musical Experience Featuring 13-Piece Chamber Ensemble L’orchestre L’ogresse With Bandleader Darcy James Argue And The Mivos String Quartet

New York, NY (August 9, 2019) - Grammy Award-winning vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant brings her newest theatrical work, The Ogresse, arranged and conducted by Darcy James Argue, to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater, September 27-28 at 8:00 p.m. The Ogresse is an original song cycle featuring Salvant with musical support from L’Orchestre L’Ogresse, a 13-piece chamber ensemble assembled for the show by composer and bandleader Darcy James Argue and comprised of top-tier jazz musicians and The Mivos String Quartet--Olivia De Prato (violin); Maya Bennardo (violin); Vistor Lowrie Tafoya (viola) and Tyler J. Borden (cello). A generational talent adored by critics and all types of audiences, Salvant is already a master of musical storytelling. The New Yorker exclaims, “only a few years into her career, this singer has absorbed the history of jazz and made it her own.”

In honor of National Arts in Education Week (September 8-14), Jazz at Lincoln Center announces an extensive range of free (and almost free) concerts and educational events for all ages, including Hot Seat tickets, pre-concert discussions, family concerts and Late Night Sessions at Dizzy’s Club. Jazz at Lincoln Center offers special pricing for students year-round.

Dizzy’s Club’s 10th Annual Generations In Jazz Festival Lineup Announced

New York, NY (July 25, 2019) - September marks the tenth anniversary of Dizzy’s Club’s Generations in Jazz Festival, featuring exemplary artists across generations in 29 unique programs over 30 nights. The festival kicks off on September 2 with Ruben Fox presents Ellingtonia featuring Joy Brown, Samara Joy and Vuyo Sotashe, and closes out on October 1 with two Flip Side Sessions - Mathis Sound Orchestra (7:30 p.m.) and Endea Owens and the Cookout (9:30 p.m.)
