Chucho Valdés And Chick Corea Collaborate For The First Time at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater

New York, NY (September 19, 2019) - For two nights only, Jazz at Lincoln Center presents the first-ever collaboration between two legendary jazz pianists, Chucho Valdés and Chick Corea. On November 15-16 at 8:00 p.m., Chucho Valdés with special guest Chick Corea begins as a master class in solo piano performance with Valdés selecting and improvising pieces across a broad spectrum of Cuban, Afro-Latin, and jazz styles. With fleet-fingered, cross-cultural brilliance in every phrase, Valdés brings unbridled passion and astonishing technique to every performance. Valdés is joined by Corea in the second half of the concert, marking the debut collaboration of the living legends.

Dizzy's Club November 2019 Lineup Announced

New York, NY (September 16, 2019) - Notable performances in Dizzy’s Club in the month of November include the album release celebration of Remembering U by NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Cobb and his trio (November 25); JLCO baritone saxophonist Paul Nedzela and his quartet (November 5-6); a tribute to Billy Higgins by drummer Willie Jones III (November 14-17); vocalist Paula West with her incredible band, which includes guitarist Russell Malone (November 22-24); and drummer Jerome Jennings’ CD release: SOLIDARITY (November 12).

New York, NY (September 12, 2019) - In an exclusive concert event, Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates the 50th anniversary of ECM Records, the monumentally influential recording label that continues to set new directions in music and sound. On November 1-2 at 8:00 p.m., the concert entitled ECM Records at 50 will feature performances by Jack DeJohnette-ECM’s most recorded artist to date - as well as Avishai Cohen, Ravi Coltrane, Bill Frisell, Matthew Garrison, Egberto Gismonti, Larry Grenadier, Vijay Iyer, Ethan Iverson, Anja Lechner, Meredith Monk, Enrico Rava, Wadada Leo Smith, Craig Taborn, and Mark Turner.

Jazz at Lincoln Center joins Sesame Street’s Milestone 50th Anniversary with First-Ever Performance featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and Iconic Sesame Street Characters in Rose Theater

New York, NY (August 22, 2019) - This fall, Jazz at Lincoln Center will welcome beloved Sesame Street characters Elmo, Abby, Big Bird, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Rosita, Bert & Ernie, The Count, and Hoots the Owl to sing classic Sesame Street songs such as “Sing,” “People in Your Neighborhood,” “Rubber Duckie,” and “Sunny Days” alongside the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in Rose Theater. This exclusive world premiere, A Swingin’ Sesame Street Celebration: 50 Years and Counting-music directed by Wynton Marsalis with director Kenneth Diego and scriptwriter Andrew Moriarty-takes place on October 25 at 7:00 p.m. and October 26 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in Rose Theater. The concert is one of Sesame Street’s landmark 50th anniversary events.

World Premiere Performance by Joe Lovano Universal Jazz Ensemble

New York, NY (August 21, 2019) - On October 18-19 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room, Joe Lovano -- tenor titan, and one of the world’s best saxophonists -- will debut the Joe Lovano Universal Jazz Ensemble, an all-star octet of innovators and free thinkers who span generations and move fluidly across genres.
