Celebrating Miles Davis in March at Jazz at Lincoln Center

New York, NY (February 11, 2019) - Jazz at Lincoln Center announces two additional shows in its three-part salute to Miles Davis during the 2018-19 season: Family Concert: Who is Miles Davis?, March 23 at 1pm and 3pm; and Marcus Miller: Electric Miles, March 29-30 at 8pm. The Jazz for Young People concert is an hour-long narrated concert about Miles Davis, led by trumpet master and former Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra member Sean Jones. Far from a typical career retrospective, this Family Concert shows not only what Davis accomplished, but also how he did it. Families discover how Davis listened with open ears, found inspiration in the genius of others, and brought many influences into his own individual and evolving vision. Sean Jones is joined by Patrick Bartley (alto sax), Aaron Holbrook (tenor sax), Helen Sung (piano), Endea Owens (bass), and Domo Branch (drums) for this event. Both performances on Saturday, March 23 at 1pm and 3pm are webcast live at jazz.org/live and on Facebook.
