New York NY (August 27, 2018) - For the first time ever, Mark O’Connor Family Band, GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist and vocalist Alvin Youngblood Hart, and American jazz and gospel singer Lizz Wright collaborate in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s iconic Appel Room in American Roots: Mark O’Connor Family Band & Friends, October 5-6 at 7pm and 9:30pm. Winner of three GRAMMY Awards and seven Country Music Awards, O’Connor leads an exploration of blues, bluegrass, Cajun, gospel, folk, spirituals, and western swing music traditions with the newly formed Mark O’Connor Family Band - featuring Maggie O’Connor and Kate Lee on fiddle and vocals, Forrest O’Connor on mandolin and vocals, Geoff Saunders on banjo and bass, and National Flatpick Guitar Champion Joe Smart. The group’s debut album won the 2017 GRAMMY Award for Best Bluegrass Album.
