Charles Lloyd & The Marvels: 80th Birthday Celebration featuring Bill Frisell and special guest Lucinda Williams

New York, NY (November 28, 2018) - Charles Lloyd, NEA Jazz Master, saxophone titan, bandleader, and composer, will celebrate his 80th birthday in a special concert event, Charles Lloyd & The Marvels: 80th Birthday Celebration, featuring guitarist Bill Frisell and special guest vocalist Lucinda Williams, on December 14-15 at 8pm, at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater. Lloyd’s longtime rhythm section of bassist Reuben Rodgers and drummer Eric Harland, plus pedal steel guitar master Greg Leisz, will join Lloyd, Frisell, and Williams for this milestone birthday event.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and vocalists Vuyo Sotashe and Veronica Swift ring in the holidays with Big Band Holidays

New York, NY (November 20, 2018) - Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis spreads good cheer this holiday season as the world renowned jazz orchestra and guest vocaists Vuyo Sotashe and Veronica Swift perform Big Band Holidays throughout the U.S. The 14-city U.S. tour embarks in Ann Arbor, MI on November 28. The Big Band Holidays tour takes the band through Texas, and the Southeast then concludes with a 5-date homecoming engagement at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Fredrick P. Rose Hall’s Rose Theater on December 19-23. The performance on Sunday, December 23 at 2pm, will be a Relaxed Performance, designed to provide an opportunity for children or adults with autism, learning difficulties, or other sensory and communication needs to enjoy our performances with their families in a more relaxed environment.

Recorded at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, “Winter Wonderland” will be available for streaming and download on all mass-market digital platforms on November 30.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Kicks Off Nat “King” Cole Centennial Celebration with Sachal Vasandani

New York, NY (November 8, 2018) - Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates Nat “King” Cole’s centennial with the concert event, Nat “King” Cole at 100 with Sachal Vasandani in The Appel Room, December 14-15, 7pm and 9:30pm each night. Vasandani is particularly well known for his Cole tribute project, which has featured classics like “Unforgettable,” “Mona Lisa,” and “Straighten Up and Fly Right.” Though a distinctive artist in his own right, Vasandani’s “beautiful, velvety voice” and “remarkable stage presence” (NPR) have drawn multiple comparisons to Nat “King” Cole himself. During these two special evenings, he will honor Cole’s legacy with his cool, charismatic showmanship against the stunning backdrop of The Appel Room.

Steve Miller with Marty Stuart: Music from Appalachia

New York, NY (November 1, 2018) - On December 7-8 at 8pm, renowned blues-rock guitarist, multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steve Miller will return to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater to continue his exploration of the blues. For the first time, Miller will welcome guitarist, mandolinist, vocalist, and American music icon Marty Stuart as co-host. Stuart was one of Johnny Cash’s late musical cohorts, and he is a chart-topping songwriter and producer, host of TV’s The Marty Stuart Show, and the winner of multiple GRAMMY Awards, Country Music Awards, International Bluegrass Music Awards, and the Americana Music Honors Lifetime Achievement Award. On these special evenings, Miller will play alongside Stuart’s band, Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, which was named 2017 Group of the Year by the Americana Music Honors and Awards.
