In recognition of International Jazz Day (celebrated worldwide on April 30), Jazz at Lincoln Center announces the 2018 Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame inductees ranging from an obscure yet monumentally influential bassist to one of American music’s most popular crossover vocalist to a 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee: Jimmie Blanton, Nat “King” Cole, and Nina Simone.

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola June 2018 Lineup Announced
New York, NY (April 24, 2017) -The Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola stage in June showcases personal projects by members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, including Ted Nash with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra (June 4), Paul Nedzela Quartet (June 12-13), Victor Goines (June 14-17), and even former JLCO member Rodney Whitaker with the Band Director Academy Faculty Band (June 25). The month also features an eclectic mix of international music, including Dion Parson & 21st Century Band (June 8-10), in time for Caribbean Heritage Month; the return of the Jazztopad Festival with Maciej Obara Quartet (June 19); and jazz fused with Arabic rhythms with Tarek Yamani Trio (June 11), who will also be performing with Jazz at Lincoln Center for the first time. In addition, Sharel Cassity ELEKTRA (June 6) and Shamie Royston Trio (June 20) will also be celebrating their album releases in Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola this month.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis Celebrates Ornette Coleman, May 18-19
New York, NY (April 17, 2018) - The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis celebrates one of jazz's great original geniuses: composer, Pulitzer Prize winner, and alto saxophonist Ornette Coleman (1930-2015). 2017 Grammy Award-winning composer, arranger, saxophonist, and bandleader Ted Nash serves as music director for the evening, utilizing the Orchestra's many colors to bring this music to life. One of the all-time best melodists regardless of musical tradition, Ornette Coleman left a profound body of work that demands ongoing exploration. With virtuosic big band arrangements of seminal works like "Una Muy Bonita," "Lonely Woman," and "Peace," the Orchestra will foray deep into Coleman's incomparable musical world. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis last played with the legend himself on the Rose Theater stage in September 2009 to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim.

New York, NY (April 16, 2018) - Vocalist-composer Somi, described as “the new high priestess of soul” by the Huffington Post, and special guest British superstar Laura Mvula, will honor two of the most uncompromising vocalists of the 20th century in Miriam Makeba & Nina Simone: Singing Protest & Memory with Somi, May 18-19 , in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Appel Room. The concerts mark Somi’s debut performance in The Appel Room and Mvula’s first-ever Jazz at Lincoln Center appearance. Also joining Somi on stage will be pianist Toru Dodo, bassist Michael Olatuja, drummer Otis Brown III, and vocalist Vuyo Sotashe.
