Jazz at Lincoln Center Announces 2018-19 Season
New York, NY - (updated June 18, 2018) - Jazz at Lincoln Center and Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis announce the 2018-19 season of concerts that highlight jazz’s diverse, adaptable, and inclusive nature and reveal both the music’s history and its continuing evolution. The season features 31 unique concert programs comprising over 90 performances in Rose Theater and The Appel Room, more than 350 nights of music in Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, and an extensive range of education and advocacy programs for all ages. This impressive lineup of programs showcases jazz as essential to the tapestry of American culture and demonstrates its ability to integrate with all art forms.

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola March 2018 Lineup Announced
New York, NY (February 22, 2017) - Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola presents over 20 sets featuring women in jazz throughout March. Highlights include Denise Thimes (March 6-7); Duchess with vocalists Amy Cervini, Hilary Gardner and Melissa Stylianou (March 21); Miho Hazama and m_unit (March 25); Judy Carmichael Quartet with special guest Harry Allen (March 27-28); and the 25th anniversary celebration of DIVA Jazz Orchestra (March 29-April 1) with special guests Ingrid Jensen (March 29), Camille Thurman (March 30-31) and Anat Cohen (April 1). The Ladybugs (March 13-17), Dida Pelled (March 20-24), and Caili O’Doherty: Lil Hardin Armstrong Project (March 27-31) will lead Late Night Sessions at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, starting at 11:15pm Tuesday-Saturdays.

Paquito D'Rivera Reimagines Charlie Parker's Bird with Strings
New York, NY (February 20, 2018) - NEA Jazz Master, Carnegie Hall Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and 14-time Grammy Award winner Paquito D'Rivera returns to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater with To Bird with Strings for two nights only, March 16-17. To Bird with Strings is a tribute to Charlie Parker’s Bird with Strings, one of D’Rivera’s favorite albums and Parker’s best-selling record - the program was previously performed to sold-out audiences in The Appel Room in 2013. The program will feature selections from the original album, unrecorded arrangements from the project, and new takes on Parker’s work with Latin jazz legends like Machito and Chico O’Farrill. D’Rivera will be joined by his ensemble, including pianist Alex Brown, drummer Eric Doob, bassist Zach Brown, percussionist Rolando Morales, violinist Andrei Matorin, oboist Tom Christensen, and harpist Riza Printup, along with a full string ensemble. A free pre-concert discussion will take place at 7pm each night in the Agnes Varis and Karl Leichtman Studio, located in the Irene Diamond Education Center.
