Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola February 2018 Lineup Announced
New York, NY (December 21, 2017) - In Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola this February, the Gotham Kings will return for their annual Mardi Gras Celebration (February 13), followed by a night filled with Songs We Love featuring Vuyo Sotashe and Brianna Thomas (February 14). Marilyn Maye, also known as the “Queen of Cabaret,” will return to the intimate stage of Dizzy’s for four nights (February 15-18), after headlining four sets in The Appel Room earlier this season. Highlights the third week of February include artists paying tribute to jazz greats, such as Julian Bliss Septet: A Tribute to Benny Goodman (February 19); and A Love Supine: A Dixieland Love Supreme (February 20), a show influenced by Coltrane’s classic A Love Supreme, Eddie Condon, Boyce Brown, Pee Wee Russell, and Jelly Roll Morton, with compositions arranged by Allen Lowe.

New York, NY (December 18, 2017) - Jazz Congress, a new annual conference designed to bring together artists, media and industry leaders in the global jazz community, today announced NBA all-time leading scorer, New York Times-bestselling author, and U.S. Cultural Ambassador Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the keynote speaker for its first annual Jazz Congress on Thursday, January 11 at 12:15pm in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra to Make Its International Debut at London’s The Barbican
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Youth Orchestra (JLYCO) makes its international debut at the Barbican in London, England on February 27- March 1, 2018. As part of the bi-annual Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis residency at the Barbican, 22 NYC-area high school jazz musicians will spend a week abroad for a music and cultural exchange with public performances, workshops, and jam sessions.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will pay tribute to Benny Goodman’s legendary 1938 debut at Carnegie Hall, one of the first major public performances featuring a racially-integrated group and considered a milestone in the acceptance of jazz as America’s classical music.

Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola January 2018 Lineup Announced
New York, NY (December 1, 2017) - Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola kicks off the new year with a showcase of jazz from around the world, featuring artists and music traditions from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Cuba, France, Russia, and beyond. The Latvian Radio Big Band (January 8) will exemplify the long tradition of radio big bands in Europe. Cuban-born and New York-based percussionist Pedrito Martinez will lead four nights of Afro-Cuban jazz, first with pianist Alberto Rodriguez (January 11-12), and then with his Pedrito Martinez Group (January 13-14). Rhoda Scott (January 15) and Igor Butman (January 16-20) will highlight the jazz traditions of France and Russia, respectively. The month will end with Nilson Matta (January 25-28) sharing the Brazilian Voyage, followed by Azerbaijan-born New Yorker Amina Figarova, internationally acclaimed composer, pianist, and bandleader, with her sextet (January 29).
