New York, NY (October 23, 2017) - The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center continues to host innovative sounds and stories, set against the unparalleled backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Saxophone and clarinet virtuosos Peter and Will Anderson will share the story of Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, also known as The Fabulous Dorsey Brothers, December 1-2, 7pm and 9:30pm each night. Of the Anderson twins’ off-Broadway Dorsey Brothers revue in 2012, the Wall Street Journal raved that they “establish [the Dorseys] as gargantuan heroes of a long-departed, almost mythical era, when the ability to play an instrument better than anyone else could make you king of the whole world.”

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola December 2017 Lineup Announced
New York, NY (October 20, 2017) - In December, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra’s own Sherman Irby will return to Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola with Sherman Irby: A New Christmas Story (December 20�“24), following the 2016 debut of this family-friendly program. His band will feature vocalist Camille Thurman, trombonist Steve Turre, pianist Isaiah J. Thompson, bassist Gerald Cannon, and drummer Chris Beck. Additional highlights in December include the New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band: Ted Nash, Extended Works (December 11), exploring the music of Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and composer Ted Nash, a longtime member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra; pianist Renee Rosnes with Monk Competition winning saxophonist Melissa Aldana, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, bassist Peter Washington and drummer Lenny White (December 7-10); trumpeter Marquis Hill with the great 86-year old Chicago-based pianist Willie Pickens (December 12-13); and the illustrious pianist Dick Hyman, returning to the Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola stage in Dick Hyman: Standards and Strides (December 18-19).
