Pianist Marcus Roberts, the fearless virtuoso recently featured on CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” brings his newest ensemble, the Modern Jazz Generation, to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s The Appel Room on September 26 and 27 in a concert event entitled Piano Masters of Melody, at 7pm and 9:30pm.

BILL FRISELL’S ROOTS OF AMERICANA SERIES PRESENTS THIS LAND: WOODY GUTHRIE’S BETTER WORLD
Guitar icon Bill Frisell returns as curator of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Roots of Americana series, joined by an array of guest musicians, to explore the intersections of rock, country, jazz, and blues. This season, the series opens with This Land: Woody Guthrie’s Better World, the first of three concerts in the Roots of Americana series during the 2014-15 season, and takes place on September 19-20 at 7pm & 9:30pm in The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall

CHUCHO VALDÉS, PEDRITO MARTINEZ, & WYNTON MARSALIS OPEN JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER’S 2014
Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2014-15 season opens on September 18-20 at 8pm with the debut of a collaborative new work by Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis, the influential pianist-composer-arranger Chucho Valdés, rising star percussionist Pedrito Martinez, and the internationally renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in Rose Theater.
