DIZZY’S CLUB COCA-COLA August 2013 Lineup Announced
Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola’s programming throughout August reflects celebrations in jazz: the life and music of Mulgrew Miller; Wayne Shorter’s 80th birthday; and celebrating Jazz House Kids, winners of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2013 Essentially Ellington High School Competition and Festival. For the group’s special one-night only performance, Jazz House Kids, from Montclair, New Jersey, will be joined by bassist extraordinaire Christian McBride.

Scott Sanders Productions (lead producer) announced today that After Midnight (a new production of Cotton Club Parade, conceived by Jack Viertel, which played two smash-hit, sold-out engagements at City Center) will open on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W 47th Street) this fall. Director/choreographer Warren Carlyle and superstar fashion duo Isabel and Ruben Toledo will join nine-time Grammy Awardand Pulitzer Prize winner Wynton Marsalis and The Jazz at Lincoln Center All-Stars to bring the lavish shows of the hip Harlem nightclub to a whole new generation of theatergoers.

Art Blakey, Lionel Hampton, and Clark Terry were inducted into Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame (EJHF) at an induction ceremony and luncheon yesterday at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s (JALC) home, Frederick P. Rose Hall.
