Renowned blues-rock guitarist, singer/songwriter, and lifelong jazz fan Steve Miller returns to Jazz at Lincoln Center for an in-depth look at T-Bone Walker. Considered the founding father of electric blues guitar, Walker changed the way blues was played with his unique and extraordinary solo electric guitar performances. Miller learned his first chords at age five from his godfather Les Paul, how to play lead guitar from T-Bone Walker at age nine, and how to perform from some of the best bluesmen in Chicago (including Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Paul Butterfield, and James Cotton) has incorporated his affinity for the blues into all of his major recordings, and is now working closely with Jazz at Lincoln Center to explore and expand upon authentic blues styles.
