Blue Engine Records

Blue Engine Records is JALC’s in-house record label. Blue Engine releases new studio records and live albums pulling from our vast archive of concert recordings. The label’s latest release, The Music of John Lewis, features the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and Jon Batiste.

Jazz Night in America

Jazz Night in America, a weekly radio show and video series, is produced in partnership with NPR and WBGO. JNIA airs on over 200 stations nationwide and documents and presents some of the most incredible live jazz performances, capturing artist interviews and engrossing stories from around the country.


Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

The JLCO with Wynton Marsalis is one of the world’s premier jazz big bands and features 15 of the finest soloists, ensemble players, and arrangers in jazz music today. The Orchestra has been JALC’s resident and touring flagship ensemble since 1991.

Discounted Tickets

Our $10 Hot Seat & Student Ticket programs make our concerts more affordable and make jazz more accessible to all audiences. Hot Seats are made available each Wednesday for selected concerts at our Box Office. Student tickets are available through our official student program.

Essentially Ellington

Essentially Ellington is one of our flagship educational programs that aims to elevate musicianship, broaden perspectives, and inspire creativity in high school bands across America. Registering is free for teachers & each year over 31,000 charts are distributed to nearly 4000 schools across the US.

Community Performances

As part of our mission to entertain, enrich, and expand the jazz community, JALC produces a wide variety of community-oriented events, including school workshops, free live performances, and various outreach events throughout NYC and abroad.

Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame

The Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame is our way of recognizing the important pioneers of jazz and sharing their lives and music with you. The EJHF honors legendary artists or members of the jazz community based on his or her singular dedication and outstanding contributions to jazz.

Jazz for Young People

Jazz for Young People is one of the ways we ensure jazz will continue to flourish in the future. Last year our program helped over 7,000 students learn about this music and its deep connection to democracy through dynamic and interactive concerts, lessons, and master classes.

Live Webcasts

JALC offers free concert webcasts of over 200 concerts each year, streamed live on Facebook, Livestream, and jazz.org. JALC is committed to enriching and expanding a global community for jazz, and in 2016, our webcasts were viewed over 230,000 times from more than 150 countries.

Jazz Academy Videos

Do you know the difference between a soli and a shout chorus? Our Jazz Academy Video Library is how we share the insight and knowledge of jazz greats with a younger generation. Our library contains concerts, interviews, and master classes that have collectively been viewed over 3.8 million times.

Middle School Jazz Academy

Middle School Jazz Academy offers free instrumental jazz instruction to middle school students from all five NYC boroughs. Students learn how to play jazz and appreciate the importance of teamwork, creativity, and self-expression from JALC faculty, members of the JLCO, and visiting jazz masters.

Music Commissions

Commissioning new works is our way of adding to the jazz canon and preserving this music for the future. Many of our season concerts feature premieres of works written by members of the JLCO, including Free To Be: Jazz of the '60s & Beyond and the Buddy Rich Centennial: Celebrating the Jazz Drum.

Relaxed Performances

Our Relaxed Performance concerts are designed to provide families with children or adults with autism, learning difficulties, or other sensory and communication needs the opportunity to enjoy Jazz at Lincoln Center performances in a more relaxed environment.

Summer Jazz Academy

The Summer Jazz Academy is the foremost high school jazz performance program. Each year, 42 of the most advanced and dedicated high school jazz students are immersed in a two-week, tuition-free intensive program featuring instruction by Wynton Marsalis and some of the world’s finest jazz educators.

Swing University

Swing University is JALC’s ongoing education program, aimed at cultivating and understanding of and appreciation for jazz music and history. Our talented faculty will introduce you to sounds both new and classic, illuminating the music’s history and placing it within a modern context.

WeBop

WeBop is an early-childhood jazz education program for children ranging in age from eight months to five years that invites families to stomp, strut, and swing to the joyous rhythms of jazz as they learn about the core concepts, instruments, and great performers of jazz.
