Our Family Concerts are always a good time, and this fun afternoon show with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will entertain and inspire your family—whether you’re already jazz lovers, or perhaps simply wondering, “What is bebop?”

The hour-long program will explore the essential jazz concept and genre of “bebop,” with live performances of tunes by Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and more. With music direction by trombonist Vincent Gardner, the world-renowned JLCO will show audiences a special style of music born right here in New York City. Known for its attention-grabbing melodies, wild improvised solos, and all-around technical dazzlement, bebop is one of the most viscerally thrilling jazz styles.

Designed to entertain and inform audiences of all ages, this Family Concert will be an unbeatable introduction to the pure musical excitement of bebop performed at the highest level.
