Like many of you, we have been closely monitoring developments with the COVID-19 pandemic and following guidance from the Centers for DiseaseControl as well as other public health officials and entities. With the health and safety of our artists, staff and audiences being of the utmost importance to us,  we have made the decision to postpone our 4/2 performance of Carmen, which will now take placeon June 19, 2020 at 8pm at Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall.

Due to this rescheduling, please consider one of the following options and at your convenience contact the appropriate party. 

  • Transfer your tickets to the new performance date of June, 19, 2020by contacting Geneva Lyman at glyman@mastervoices.org
  • If you are unable to attend – we respectfully ask you to consider these options

Lynda and her All-Star Band return for a spectacular new concert, taking the audience on a journey of music, song and fun, and featuring special guest, Jessica Carter Altman. The show will have audiences dancing in the aisles as it once again plays The Appel Room.

Omar Kamal has a voice that transcends borders and decades. His honest, pure power and capacity for connection is the same genius that has defined the career of the greatest singing legends – influences felt in his eclectic catalogue and captivating performances from Sinatra’s jazz and swing to timeless Arab idols like Mohammed Abdel Wahab and Fairouz. Kamal brings together stunning repertoires and emotional hits for one enchanting evening.

2020 Gala: Brubeck+Bird at 100

This year’s gala, Brubeck+Bird at 100, celebrates the legacy of two jazz greats, Dave Brubeck and Charlie “Yardbird” Parker and will feature a star-studded lineup performing timeless songs from two artists who helped shape and forever change the art form. Anchored by New York’s House Band—the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis—the show features performances by a host of special guest artists.

Mary Stallings and the Emmet Cohen Trio

Two extraordinary vocalists—each of them already a popular Jazz at Lincoln Center headliner—share The Appel Room stage in this Singers Over Manhattan showcase. Audiences will enjoy one of the most famous views in New York City while Mary Stallings and Freddy Cole sing their hearts out alongside pianist Emmet Cohen’s trio, featuring Russell Hall and Kyle Poole.

Japanese piano master Makoto Ozone is a musician recognized by jazz fans around the world. He’s resided in both Japan and the United States, and his diverse groups perform in clubs, concert halls, and festivals on multiple continents.

Sherman Irby's Supernova

Featuring the JLCO with Wynton Marsalis

JLCO saxophonist Sherman Irby leads a gravity-defying exploration of the universe with the world premiere of his new commission. After kicking off the suite with the Big Bang, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will travel through a series of distinctive movements, evoking awe-inspiring galactic phenomena from supernovas, stars, and black holes to the formation of a galaxy and life itself, with narration by William Shatner (Star Trek's Captain Kirk).

Andrew Renfroe: Son House and the Delta Blues

The Blues at Dizzy’s

Guitarist Andrew Renfroe presents his tribute to the famously spirited Delta blues legend Son House. Renfroe has an expansive modern jazz vocabulary, but tonight he gets to let loose with his take on the classic Delta blues sound.

Powerhouse vocalist Shenel Johns returns to honor the Great Ladies of the Blues. A commanding vocalist in any setting, Johns is a long-time favorite at Dizzy’s Club for her range of jazz, R&B, gospel, and Great American Songbook prowess.

Phil Wiggins House Party Plays the Piedmont Blues

The Blues at Dizzy’s

Traditional blues harmonica player Phil Wiggins carries on the Piedmont blues tradition, a melodic brand of the genre from the mid-Atlantic region. He’s played with all of the greats over the past several decades, and tonight he brings his House Party to the club, featuring harmonica, vocals, violin, guitar, and a dancer “to reunite the blues with dance.”

Monday Nights with WBGO: Temple University Jazz Band with special guest Akiko Tsuruga

Celebrating Shirley Scott

The Temple University Jazz Band—an exemplary student group led by Grammy Award–winning trumpeter Terell Stafford—returns to Dizzy’s Club. Tonight’s performance will be an impressive display of up-and-coming talent under the extraordinary leadership of Terell Stafford, whose band credits include McCoy Tyner, Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath, and the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra.
