Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 25th Annual Virtual Essentially Ellington
Competition and Festival now June 8-12, 2020
Essentially Ellington Q&A with Wynton Marsalis and Alexa Tarantino

now June 11, 2020

As of March 17, 2020, the Essentially Ellington Competition & Festival was postponed due to COVID-19 and as a result, we regretfully are unable to host the Essentially Ellington Luncheon in its traditional format. Jazz at Lincoln Center places a priority on the health and safety of our concertgoers, artists, guests, patrons, program participants and staff.

We are excited to announce our Virtual Essentially Ellington Festival, that will take place from June 8-12, 2020. For more information on all the events, please click here.

To take the place of our annual Luncheon event, our Managing & Artistic Director, Wynton Marsalis, will host an online Q&A with Essentially Ellington Alumni and Saxophonist Alexa Tarantino on Thursday, June 11, at 12pm EDT. Our Essentially Ellington Luncheon donors will have the opportunity to pre-register for the Zoom conversation, with exclusive access to ask questions and participate in the conversation. The event will also be live streamed on Facebook for the general public.

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Essentially Ellington, several donors have made early gifts at the $25,000 level. We are eternally grateful for this level of support. Please consider adding your voice to this campaign by making a gift to support this important milestone.

Thank you for considering a gift to support Jazz at Lincoln Center and giving us the tools to remain flexible and serve our mission. Your gift today will make a difference.
