Dick Hyman & Ken Peplowski Play from their New Album: COUNTERPOINT LERNER & LOEWE

With pianist Dick Hyman and clarinetist/tenor saxophonist Ken Peplowski.

“…extraordinarily gifted musicians… who can tackle any idiomatic jazz you might throw at them… these musical soul mates seem to have been born to duet with each other.” – The New Yorker

Dick Hyman is a true national treasure whose career includes a nearly encyclopedic output of more than 100 albums. A master of classic American music, ragtime, stride piano, and even orchestral works, the 92-year-old pianist has long been rumored to never miss a note. Ken Peplowski is a clarinetist and saxophonist similarly cherished for his vivacious and virtuosic renditions of classic swing material, authentic jazz, and the Great American Songbook. Tonight, this dream duo joins forces again to perform music from their brand-new album celebrating Lerner and Loewe—a duo “virtually synonymous with the blockbuster Broadway musical,” whose smash hits include My Fair Lady, Camelot, Paint Your Wagon, and Gigi. Every performance by Hyman and Peplowski is a unique tour-de-force of timeless tunes and technical prowess, and their clear adoration of one another’s musicianship and creativity is infectious. This is a chance to see some of America’s greatest music performed at the absolute highest level.
