Dizzy's Club

Scott Colley Quartet

With bassist Scott Colley, trumpeter Ralph Alessi, pianist Craig Taborn, and drummer Mark Ferber.

“Scott [Colley] is such a center point in any group that he’s a part of. He becomes that glue that you want from the bassist, rhythmically and harmonically, but it’s his ideas and spirit that ultimately just lift the thing and take it to a higher place.” – Brian Blade

“I’ve always felt that Scott [Colley] is one of the most musical bassists playing today… he seems to have this natural, intuitive, empathic sense of how to bring the most out of the other musicians and the music he’s playing.” – Joshua Redman

Bassist Scott Colley is no stranger to Dizzy’s Club or Jazz at Lincoln Center’s larger stages, having performed here with the likes of Chris Potter, Joshua Redman, Joey Alexander, Ted Nash, and Eddie Daniels in just the past couple of years, but it’s a rare opportunity to have him as a bandleader. Tonight, we welcome the Scott Colley Quartet to our most intimate performance space. Colley’s broad repertoire includes a number of deep, yet accessible originals that always make great use of his top-notch band members, providing them with an adaptable foundation to build upon. Expect a varied set of instrumental jazz performed by some of the best musicians in the business.
