Manhattan School of Music Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra

Cartoon and TV Music Goes Latin Jazz

The Manhattan School of Music has long been a fixture of the New York music scene and prides itself as one of the first conservatories in the United States to acknowledge the prime importance of jazz as an art form. The Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra, led by multi-Grammy Award nominee Bobby Sanabria, boasts two separate Latin Grammy Award nominations, an exceptional accomplishment for a student ensemble that underscores its extraordinary pool of talent. Every time they come to Dizzy’s it’s a wild new experience; their most recent performance celebrated West Side Story’s 60th anniversary with a Latin jazz makeover, and this upcoming performance will present classic cartoon and television music in an Afro-Cuban big band context. Come check out the next generation of stars and enjoy a one-of-a-kind performance.
