Harold Mabern Trio

With pianist Harold Mabern, bassist Nat Reeves, and drummer Joe Farnsworth

81-year-old Harold Mabern is a jazz veteran who has played with icons like Wes Montgomery, Sarah Vaughan, Lee Morgan, Sonny Rollins, and Miles Davis, and he continues to release albums prolifically as both a sideman and bandleader. A leading voice in both hard bop and soul jazz, Mabern calls himself “a blues pianist who understands jazz,” and his style is easy to love. Joining him tonight are bassist Nat Reeves and drummer Joe Farnsworth, both of whom are also long-term members in the groups of other jazz titans like Pharoah Sanders. We’re thrilled to have this elite pianist and living legend join us at Dizzy’s during our 2017 Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival

This event is part of our 8th annual Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival, showcasing some of the top rising stars of jazz alongside some of the artists who have contributed to making this art form what it is today. The Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival runs from September 1–October 1, 2017. View the full line-up here.
