Senior Budget Analyst


As part of the Finance department, the Senior Budget Analyst is responsible for supporting the Director in the areas of financial analysis and reporting through the maintenance of statistical ledgers and budgets, preparation of report documents and updating of monthly financial reports. 


  • Work with Operating Departments on preparation of budgets and estimates.
  • Work with Development on preparation of Donor Report Financial Reports.
  • Track operating statistics of the organization.
  • Prepare and maintain budget and estimate ledgers.
  • Support Director with the preparation of variance analyses of actual monthly results compared to compared to budget and estimates
  • Partner with Director to collect and consolidate information from operating departments to prepare company “dashboard” and distribute to senior management.
  • Prepare report documents for Board of Directors and Board Committee meetings.
  • Provide various financial reports as requested by the Foundations and Government Relations division of the Development Department.
  • Update, review and distribute monthly financial reports to managers and designated support staff.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget and quarterly estimates.
  • Work in conjunction with Director to develop new regular and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Analyze company revenue streams and purchasing patterns using various financial software.
  • Collaborate with Director to identify savings and revenue enhancement opportunities.
  • Other relevant duties as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three to five years of experience in an analyst role.
  • Superior command of MS Excel; knowledge of reporting software and ability to learn new programs quickly and thoroughly
  • Exemplary attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to occasionally work overtime, including weekend hours during peak season.
  • Ability to transition easily from working independently to working with a larger team
  • Ability to handle financial information with utmost discretion
  • Knowledge of or keen interest in and appreciation of jazz and jazz culture helpful
