Information Technology Intern


The mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) is to entertain, enrich and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy. From college students to young stars, from working professionals to celebrated masters, we present quality jazz for an ever-increasing audience in an unprecedented range of activities and a variety of venues. JALC has created a dynamic platform where our key constituents – jazz artists (beginner to grizzled veteran), fans (casual listeners to advanced scholars), educators (local band leaders to leading artist-educators) and advocates (local community advocates to important national promoters) – can meet, engage, learn, and work towards common objectives.

Position Description

The JALC Technology department is seeking an Intern for our busy Technology Department. Working under the direction of the Manger, Network Administration and the Senior Associate, System Administrator, the Technology Intern will provide quality and timely hands-on support to our users, while gaining valuable exposure and insight into various day-to-day technology activities and needs in the workplace. The role requires superior organizational skills, sound judgment, a sense of urgency in your approach to work and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Support the Technology team but not limited to maintaining hardware, software, and other systems.
  • Provide technical support to staff working remotely.
  • Research various technical problems and provide solutions to end-users and departmental staff.
  • Monitor Helpdesk calls, walk-ups, and email messages and prioritize requests according to importance.
  • Ensure all Helpdesk inquiries are answered in a timely fashion.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the management.


  • Enrolled in a college IT/Technology program.
  • Passion for technology and customer excellence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • General understanding of networking.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and MacOS.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to comprehend and support environment-specific technology solutions.
  • Should have a technical background and understand how to logically process tasks.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.
