HR Intern

 

The Human Resources department seeks an energetic and proactive intern who is interested in shadowing the team and learning core functions within human resources. The HR Intern will support the HR and Office Administration team on a variety of high-level administrative tasks and projects pertaining to recruitment, onboarding, HRIS implementation, benefits administration, and general office management. The ideal candidate should possess a strong interest in human resources, excellent communication and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to act with discretion. He/she must have a high sense of urgency and pay particular attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support special projects related to HRIS implementation, recruitment, and other HR initiatives.
  • Learn and facilitate the resume sourcing and talent acquisition process.
  • Serve as a liaison to potential candidates and schedule interviews accordingly.
  • Shadow HR team during the new hire and onboarding process.
  • Manage employee files and audit personnel records.
  • Sort and distribute department correspondence as needed.
  • Support front desk reception by answering and fielding calls as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program with a concentration in human resources or related discipline.
  • Must be eligible to receive academic credit. Documentation from institution must be provided.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required.
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HR-related databases is helpful.
  • Must be self-motivated with a desire to learn about human resources.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
