HR Generalist


We currently seek a dynamic HR Generalist to join our team. This individual will be a high achiever/goal-oriented professional who displays flexibility, active listening skills, and an exceptionally proactive attitude. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this position will support a broad range of business objectives that involve the implementation of HR strategic goals and initiatives.  The core areas of responsibility include talent acquisition, performance management, and benefits administration.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to foster strong business and trusting relationships with key stakeholders and staff.   

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact to staff and delivers outstanding customer service by answering inquiries, resolving and escalating issues, and providing guidance on policies and procedures.
  • Support the Human Resources team with the implementation of strategic and operational HR initiatives including the orchestration of COVID-19 compliance at multiple locations, the implementation of a new HRIS platform, and JALC’s annual performance management process.
  • Interpret JALC’s benefit programs by communicating benefit plan information to employees, reporting changes, reviewing and reconciling invoices for payment, and addressing inquiries.
  • Partner with hiring managers to acquire talent for part-time and full-time positions. Responsible for refining job descriptions, sourcing applicants, participating in the talent acquisition process, onboarding new employees, and conducting orientations.
  • Maintain meticulous human resource information and records. Work closely with Payroll and Finance to communicate all changes. Compile reports from database(s) as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as needed. Contribute to process improvement, department goals, objectives and systems, and employee programming.


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as an HR Generalist in a fast-paced organization.
  • Must have familiarity with or demonstrated proficiency in various HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must exercise extremely sound judgment, tact, diplomacy and maintain confidentiality and discretion in all interactions. 
  • Exceptional writing skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong ability to work with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Must possess and demonstrate high personal standards, be extremely organized, provide exceptional customer service and have a positive orientation and a sense of humor is helpful.
