Forever the First Lady of Song

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2017 Annual Fundraising Gala is a one-night-only centennial celebration of the First Lady of Song – Ella Fitzgerald. . This year’s gala will be hosted by the one and only Harry Connick, Jr., and some of the greatest vocalists alive will take the stage to honor Ella. Featured artists include Renée Fleming, Roberta Gambarini, Alison Krauss, Marilyn Maye, Audra McDonald, Camille Thurman, Kenny Washington, and Cécile McLorin Salvant in duet with pianist Sullivan Fortner.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis celebrates the centennial of Ella Fitzgerald, a vocalist whose legacy and influence define a classic era of jazz singing. Through diverse repertoire arranged by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, tonight's guest vocalists will demonstrate why the "First Lady of Song" remains a case study in succinct phrasing and uncompromising musicality. Zamir Choral Foundation Celebrates JERUSALEM

The Zamir Choral Foundation celebrates Jerusalem with a gala concert featuring five centuries of music inspired by the holy city, reunited 50 years ago. The Foundation’s flagship ensemble, the Zamir Chorale, members of HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir, and Zamir Noded (for singers aged 18-30) will sing individually and together, under the direction of Maestro Matthew Lazar. Guest soloists Alberto Mizrahi and Netanel Herstik will also be featured as well as the world premieres of works by composers David Burger and Steve Cohen.
