Not heard on a New York stage since 1929, Ottorino Respighi's La Campana Sommersa inspired lavish and colorful orchestration from the famed composer of The Pines of Rome. This opulent staging is a co-production with Teatro Lirico di Cagliari. Sung in Italian with English supertitles.

Buddy Rich Centennial: Celebrating the Jazz Drum

Ali Jackson will invigorate the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis in a virtuosic display of big band drums and rhythm. To open the evening, Jackson will arrange the music of Buddy Rich, an innovative big band genius who would have turned 100 this year. For the program's second half, audiences will witness the world-premiere of Jackson's Living Grooves: A World of Jazz Rhythm, an extended piece written in the innovative spirit of drum greats like Rich.

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 2017 Annual Fundraising Gala is a one-night-only centennial celebration of the First Lady of Song – Ella Fitzgerald. . This year’s gala will be hosted by the one and only Harry Connick, Jr., and some of the greatest vocalists alive will take the stage to honor Ella. Featured artists include Renée Fleming, Roberta Gambarini, Alison Krauss, Marilyn Maye, Audra McDonald, Camille Thurman, Kenny Washington, and Cécile McLorin Salvant in duet with pianist Sullivan Fortner.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis celebrates the centennial of Ella Fitzgerald, a vocalist whose legacy and influence define a classic era of jazz singing. Through diverse repertoire arranged by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, tonight's guest vocalists will demonstrate why the "First Lady of Song" remains a case study in succinct phrasing and uncompromising musicality.
