Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola

Little Johnny Rivero & His Giants

With leader/conga player Little Johnny Rivero, bassist Luques Curtis, pianist Zaccai Curtis, alto saxophonist Louis Fouché, trumpeter Alex Norris, and drummer Ludwig Alfonso

New York’s own conguero legend, Little Johnny Rivero, returns to Jazz at Lincoln Center—this time as a headliner in our most intimate venue. Rivero has played with all-time Latin jazz greats in New York and Puerto Rico since his teens, and he continues to do so as a bandleader, ensemble member, and featured soloist. Anyone who has seen Rivero perform in Eddie Palmieri’s band—to name just one of his high-profile and long-running gigs—knows that his groove, energy, and dazzling rhythmic feats light up stages of any size. Don’t miss your chance to see him lead his group of Latin jazz giants in this one-night-only showcase.

This event is part of our 8th annual Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival, showcasing some of the top rising stars of jazz alongside some of the artists who have contributed to making this art form what it is today. The Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival runs from September 1–October 1, 2017. View the full line-up here.
