Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola

Joe Sanders Quartet

Tonight's performances are fully reserved. A limited number of walk-up spaces are available nightly and will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

With bassist Joe Sanders, tenor saxophonist John Ellis, pianist Aaron Parks, and drummer Eric Harland

"Joe Sanders has it all. His playing is very passionate, and he has a solid knowledge of his instrument and the grounded, yet ever-evolving language of innovative jazz." – Geri Allen

Joe Sanders is a young bassist who has already played with Ravi Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Heath, Wayne Shorter, Dave Brubeck, Mulgrew Miller, Geri Allen, Jeff “Tain” Watts, and many more. His quartet tonight features two of the most in-demand rhythm section members in jazz—pianist Aaron Parks and drummer Eric Harland—plus frequent Dizzy’s Club headliner, saxophonist John Ellis. These outstanding musicians have played with one another in multiple groups, and while this configuration might be new to the Dizzy’s audience, their joint experience and musical camaraderie will be evident.

This event is part of our 8th annual Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival, showcasing some of the top rising stars of jazz alongside some of the artists who have contributed to making this art form what it is today. The Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival runs from September 1–October 1, 2017. View the full line-up here.
