Mary Stallings and the Mike LeDonne Trio

With special guest Steve Nelson

With vocalist Mary Stallings, organist Mike LeDonne, drummer Jason Brown, vibraphonist Steve Nelson, and guitarist Ed Cherry

“Perhaps the best jazz singer singing today…” – The New York Times

Mary Stallings is one of jazz’s most accomplished vocalists. Over the course of a nearly 60-year career, she has worked with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Geri Allen, and more. We’ve been honored to have her for a rare appearance at Jazz at Lincoln Center before; Don’t Look Back, her album recorded live at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, was described as “mature, modern jazz singing for lovers and those looking for love, by a vocal artist great enough to help you find and keep it.” (New York Daily News) Tonight, Stallings will perform with the Mike LeDonne Trio, comprised of rising drummer Jason Brown, jazz veteran guitarist Ed Cherry, and prolific organist Mike LeDonne.

This event is part of our 8th annual Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival, showcasing some of the top rising stars of jazz alongside some of the artists who have contributed to making this art form what it is today. The Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival runs from September 1–October 1, 2017. View the full line-up here.
