Have Trumpet, Will Excite! with Bruce Harris

Dizzy at 100

With trumpeter Bruce Harris, alto saxophonist Patrick Bartley, pianist Ehud Asherie, bassist Neil Caine, and drummer Aaron Kimmel

Bruce Harris is an immensely talented rising star trumpeter seen regularly at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola alongside New York’s most swinging musicians. He recently led a hip exploration of bebop pioneer Fats Navarro at Dizzy’s and then kicked off the 2016 Generations in Jazz Festival. Now, as part of Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy Gillespie Festival, Harris will once again exemplify our mantra that “all jazz is modern.” He always brings together some of New York’s most in-demand musicians, and we can’t wait to hear their take on Harris’ chosen Dizzy tunes. They perform each night this weekend for one set only at 7:30pm; the 9:30pm sets will be trumpeter Theo Croker’s tribute to Dizzy, in a show he calls Kush to Cool

Arrive early on Friday, January 27 and Saturday, January 28 to participate in the Dizzy Gillespie Festival in the Ertegun Atrium beginning at 6pm. Enjoy live music by Jazz at Lincoln Center’s education programs, and experience tastings from Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and partners Lotus Scoop Ice Cream and Spoonbread (1/28 only).
