Partnership and Sales Manager

 

The Manager is a key member of the Partnership and Sales team, responsible for developing new business and maximizing revenue from sponsorships, corporate memberships, and group ticket buys. Reporting to the Partnership and Sales Director, the Manager will generate new business through various forms of lead generation and help ideate new offerings for current and potential partners. Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Ticket Sales, the Manager will proactively establish Jazz at Lincoln Center as a premiere tourist destination, attending group sales conferences and networking throughout the tour and travel industries as necessary.

 

The ideal candidate is a successful, creative, collaborative, and confident sales lead, comfortable working independently and within both structured and fluid environments.

Responsibilities

  • Meet annual revenue targets for sponsors, corporate members, and group sales.

  • Prospect new clients through cold and warm lead generation.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand and identify their strategic vision, objectives and needs while aligning JALC opportunities.

  • Prepare membership proposals and presentations.

  • Negotiate terms of sponsorships, under direction of the Partnership and Sales Director.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to create new sales opportunities.

  • Support the development of new market offerings.

  • Create and update offerings to reflect changes, to programming, pricing, and inventory as needed.

  • Serve as main point of contact for all group inquires.

  • Represent JALC at group sales conferences, NYC & Co events and meetings, and other group sales industry events.

  • Cultivate new clients via lead generation, outreach, and conferences.

  • Plan and implement media strategy for travel and tourism markets in support of JALC mainstage concerts. 

  • Coordinate the fulfillment of group sales added value benefits including tours, meet and greets, and other private group activities.

  • Meet regularly with the marketing department to review ticket inventory and sales pacing.

  • Strategize and develop JALC’s place in the Tour and Travel Industry

  • Develop and manage New York Cultural Collection efforts and growth in collaboration with representatives from other leading institutions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors Degree preferred. 

  • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience, preferably in music, arts, or entertainment.  Marketing experience is a plus.

  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive regardless of circumstances.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with proven ability to multi-task.

  • Comfortable to start a conversation with anyone, anywhere.

  • Project management experience, including balancing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Strong customer service orientation demonstrating excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

  • Superior analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong proofreading, editing, and writing skills.

  • Experience managing budgets, and speaking the language of ROI, P&Ls, and activation percentages.

  • Ability to function as a team player, work in a deadline-oriented and fast-paced environment.

  • Strong computer literacy, especially a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Google Analytics.

  • Experience with Tessitura is a plus.

  • Affinity for the arts.

 

Work Hours

  • Availability to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
