Audience Development Associate


The Audience Development Associate is responsible for general administration of all intellectual property development and exploitation activities, including Blue Engine Records, merchandise, and Jazz Night in America, as well as administration of incoming media requests and corporate partnerships. In addition, the Associate manages JALC’s merchandise business. The Associate will work closely with the Product and Marketing Manager, Partnership Manager, Activation Manager, Product Manager, Audience Development Director, and B&AD VP to assist and support various team responsibilities



Blue Engine Records

  • Registers new Blue Engine tracks with HFA, calculates quarterly mechanical. royalties, submits statements to HFA, and issues direct statements as needed.

  • Tracks in-house Blue Engine inventory and reorders stock as needed, anticipating interdepartmental needs and upcoming events.

  • Facilitates Blue Engine mailings, external, and internal purchases.


  • Manages creation, inventory, distribution and sales of merchandise.

  • Manages webstore fulfillment & distribution to Great Performances.

  • Manages merchandise & media sales on Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra tour dates.

  • Manages merchandise vendor relationships.

  • Supports interdepartmental merchandise needs, including sourcing and creating new/stand alone products.


Corporate Sponsorships

  • Support VP and Director as assigned.

  • Ticketing/Dizzy’s reservations.

  • Collects and reports Jazz at Lincoln Center’s monthly social analytics.

  • Schedules, creates, and publishes Jazz at Lincoln Center Livestream events.

  • Participates in Blue Engine and Merchandise Marketing ideation.

  • Manages departmental Main Stage ticket requests.

  • Provides administrative support to the Brand & Audience Development department.

  • Processes monthly invoices and expenses for Audience Development Director.

  • Interviews and manages Audience Development intern(s).

  • Manages meeting schedules and set up including coordination of agendas, IT needs, and catering.

  • Implements audience engagement initiatives onsite at Frederick P. Rose Hall during evening concerts.

  • Administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent higher education.

  • Ability to take initiative, be proactive, and make decisions based on available information.

  • Proven ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to function as a team player and work in a deadline-oriented and fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of or keen interest in and appreciation of jazz and jazz culture helpful.

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
